Actor Anupam Kher on Wednesday decried the Central government's response to the COVID crisis, stating that it was important to hold the BJP-led government responsible for the current state of affairs with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Somewhere they have slipped ... it is time for them to understand that there is much more to life than just image-building maybe," Kher was quoted as saying in an interview with NDTV. "…" I think the criticism is valid in lots of cases and I think it is important for the government to rise to the occasion and do things that they are chosen by people of this country for."
Kher went on to say that "only an inhuman person" would not be distressed by the visuals of what appears to be bodies floating down the Ganga in UP and Bihar. The bodies are allegedly those of COVID patients who couldn't be cremated due to lack of wood for the pyres.
"We should as people... Get angry...It is important to hold the government responsible for what has happened," Kher declared. The actor is known for being a staunch supporter of the BJP and his wife, Kirron Kher is a BJP MP.
