New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday reaffirmed the Modi government’s commitment to building a terror-free India through a strict zero-tolerance policy on terrorism. This statement comes ahead of a two-day anti-terror conference starting Thursday in New Delhi, which aims to enhance coordination across various security agencies to bolster Bharat's national security framework.
In a post on the social media platform 'X', Shah emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the government is committed to eradicating terrorism. “The Modi government is committed to building a terror-free India with its policy of zero tolerance,” he wrote.
The annual conference, which has become a crucial platform for counterterrorism experts, brings together operational forces, technical, legal, and forensic experts, as well as other agencies focused on national security. According to an official statement, the event facilitates deliberations on current security threats and emerging challenges from terrorism.
This year’s conference centers on fostering synergy among various stakeholders, aiming to develop coordinated responses to counter-terrorism in line with the 'Whole of Government' approach. Key topics will include prosecution practices, evolving legal frameworks in counter-terrorism investigations, and sharing effective experiences and practices from across the country.
Other important themes to be addressed include the impact of emerging technologies, international legal cooperation, and strategies to dismantle terror networks across India. Senior police officers from states and union territories, officials from central agencies, and specialists in law, forensics, and technology will attend, contributing their expertise to guide future policy directions in counter-terrorism.
