MNS chief gets Iftar invitation as he sets out to hold rally against loudspeakers

Mumbai: Amid a stir on loudspeakers at mosques and a possible alliance with the BJP in the state, MNS chief Raj Thackeray is reported to have got an invitation to an Iftar party from AIMIM's Aurangabad MP Imtiaz Jaleel.

The invitation is said to have sent out on Thackeray's proposed rally against loudspeakers in Aurangabad. Iftar invitation is seen an attempt to patch up the volatile atmosphere over loudspeakers at mosques.

However, there is no report whether Thackeray attends the Iftar, he is believed to go ahead with his planned rally in Aurangabad on Sunday in the backdrop of his ultimatum given to the authority in connection with the removal of loudspeakers from mosques by May 3.

Meanwhile, the speculations over a possible tie up between MNS and BJP in Maharashtra are ripe, but close sources with the MNS denied any discussion has had on the matter.

Reacting to the rally, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said, "The number of times he (Raj Thackeray) has changed his stance is a subject matter for Ph.D."
