New Delhi: A top paying IT job is something a lot of people pine for.
However, many out there grow grey on the job overt time, getting bored and exhausted.
At least a few might think up ideas to moonlight or find a source for regular alternative income.
Srinivas Gowda didn't want to work on newer IT projects day in and day out, so he called it a day in 2020.
What next? He had all charted out well ahead for a donkey milk farm, investing Rs 42 lakhs in Mangaluru on a plot of about 2.3 acres in Ira village here.
Now on his life revolved around the braying of donkeys and green pastures where he quickly felt belonged.
There are now 20 donkeys on the farm which has become Karnataka's first of its kind as well as a training centre.
"I was previously employed in a software firm until 2020. This is one of a kind in India and Karnataka's first donkey farming and training centre," India Today quoted him as saying.
Srinivas Gowda is set to sell donkey milk in 30 ml milk packet at Rs 150 a pack, Money Control reported.
Donkey milk is known for its medicinal benefits and is costly; Gowda want to make the precious milk available to everyone.
The idea struck him because he found it hard to stomach the decline of several donkey species.
When he started out, people rolled their eyes in dismay because it was something nobody ever tried before.
Gowda will make available donkey milk to shops, malls and supermarkets.
As a morale booster he got orders for milk worth Rs17 lakh, the report said.
There are many myths surrounding the medicinal value of donkey milk; in Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen used to bathe in donkey milk for her glowing skin.
