New Delhi: A man who fired at a car showroom here in a bid to threaten the owner got killed in an encounter with the police on Thursday night. Police informed that the shooter was identified as Ajay alias Goli, and his encounter happened with Delhi Police's Special Cell in outer Delhi's Bhalswa Diary area, NDTV reported.
Ajay allegedly fired several rounds at a car showroom in the Tilak Nagar area on May 6. He is an associate with gangster Himanshu Bhau and is a resident of Sonipat, police said. At the shooting incident, he was accompanied by another shooter, Abhishek alias Churan. However, he was arrested by the police on May 10 in a raid near Model Town in North Delhi.
Police had recovered a pistol and six cartridges from him. There were four cases under the Arms Act, along with cases of murder and attempt to murder, filed against Abhishek. Police added that he had helped Himanshu hide from the police before he escaped from Portugal.
Earlier, gangster Himanshu had made threatening calls to car dealers in the national capital demanding crores of rupees. He had demanded Rsd 5 crore from a luxury car leader while he was on the run.
