Man-eater wolf attacks 13-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh, seriously injured

Lucknow: A 13-year-old child has been seriously injured after a wolf attacked him on Sunday night in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich.

Armaan Ali (13) was sleeping on the terrace of his home when the carnivore attacked him.

A series of similar animal attacks has been reported in the state over the past several days.

Having grievously injured in his neck and shoulders, Ali was rushed to the Bharaich Medical College after initial treatment at a local facility.

Following the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath made an aerial survey of the region.

Yogi Aditynat reportedly met families of those who lost their lives in the recent wolf attacks.

Adityanath said ensuring public safety was his government’s top priority, adding that the forest department, district administration and police, would continue work in the area to eliminate the threat.

The Chief Minister announced the compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victim’s family in the event of loss of life.

‘Anti-rabies treatment has also been made available for those injured in wild animal attacks,’ he was quoted as saying.

The chief minister said 25 teams with 165 personnel from the forest department have been deployed alongside four thermal drones.

After more than ten people were killed and over 35 got injured in wolf attacks, people in Bahraich and surrounding areas are living in fear, according to the report.

The first incident was reported on July 17 when a wolf attacked a one-year-old child.
