Prayagraj: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Prayagraj on Wednesday as part of his visit to the Maha Kumbh, where he took a holy dip at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Accompanied by Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, PM Modi made his way to Arail VIP Ghat, where they boarded a boat for the ride to Sangam. The boat ride began at 10:50 a.m., and both leaders waved to the gathered crowd at Arail VIP Ghat, acknowledging the enthusiastic supporters who had gathered to witness the occasion.

After reaching the Sangam, the Prime Minister took a dip during the auspicious Ashtami Tithi of the Magh month, marking a special occasion in the sacred calendar. He then offered prayers to the Ganga on the banks of the confluence.

The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the spiritual significance of the Maha Kumbh, which attracts millions of devotees from across India. After his visit to Sangam, PM Modi returned to Arail Ghat by boat at around 11:50 a.m. and later departed for Prayagraj Airport by 12:30 p.m.

This visit is part of the Prime Minister’s ongoing commitment to India’s cultural heritage and to promoting the importance of the Kumbh Mela. Earlier, during his December 13 visit to Prayagraj, PM Modi had inaugurated 167 development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore, improving the region's infrastructure and public amenities.

Locals have expressed their immense pride and happiness over the Prime Minister’s visit. Devotees believe that PM Modi’s efforts have elevated the recognition of Sanatan Dharma, and his second visit to the Maha Kumbh is seen as a moment of great pride for the people of Prayagraj and the entire Sanatan Dharma community.
