Madhya Pradesh rape convict rapes another minor girl months after release

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A rape convict in Madhya Pradesh raped another minor girl months after release spending seven years in jail.

Rakesh Verma (35), a resident of Krishna Nagar area, Satna, raped a minor girl who is now in critical condition, according to NDTV.

The victim is reportedly referred to Rewa Medical College hospital for better care, report said citing police.

Verma raped a four-and-half year’s old girl some 12 years ago and was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, according to City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mahendra Singh Chouhan.

After serving seven years in jail, he was released over his good behaviour around one-and-half years back. Police reportedly said the man had committed the same crime again.

‘The accused Rakesh Verma took the girl with him by caressing her from Jagatdev Talab area in the district at around 5 pm on Wednesday. When we came to know about the matter, we searched for the minor and found that the accused had raped her,’ CSP Chouhan reportedly said.

The girl was given primary care at a hospital before referring to better treatment.

A case is registered against the man under relevant sections and more details are being investigated, police said.

It is not yet clear if bulldozer action will be taken against the accused’s properties.

When asked about it, police said ‘necessary action’ will be taken.
