LoP Rahul Gandhi launches ‘Satyagraha’ digital platform to map protests in India

New Delhi: Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has launched ‘Satyagraha’, a digital platform designed to bring together protest movements and public grievances from across the country.

Announcing the initiative on X, Gandhi called on citizens to share their experiences of what they consider injustice through the platform. Users can provide details of their causes, locate similar movements through an interactive map and seek support for their campaigns, The New Indian Express reported.

Drawing on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of satyagraha, Rahul Gandhi said truth could become a more powerful force when people came together. He noted that people across India were fighting for their rights, often without collective support.

He referred to ongoing movements involving Gen Z, students, farmers, tribal communities, Dalits and women, saying the platform was intended to bring these diverse voices together.

Gandhi also said he would support such causes in Parliament, on the streets and through written representations in his capacity as Leader of the Opposition.

In a video accompanying his post, Gandhi pointed to protests over issues including inflation, farmers’ concerns, student demands and women’s safety. He explained that the platform enables protesters to submit their names, identify their organisations or groups and provide details about the issues they are campaigning on.

Those seeking assistance can also indicate the kind of support they want from Gandhi and his team for their respective movements.

Gandhi described the initiative as an attempt to create a single platform documenting protest movements across India, irrespective of their size or the nature of the issues they are raising.
