Kharge promises a non-BJP government led by Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad: Congress President, Mallikarjun Kharge said that the party will give India a non-BJP government under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. He was speaking after joining the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Hyderabad and it was his first public address after taking charge of the party.

The veteran politician accused PM Narendra Modi of "spreading lies every day" and alleged that his actions can "destroy the country" in the long term. He added that the youth of India are supporting the Congress march because PM Modi failed to keep the promise made in 2014 of providing two crore jobs.

He also criticised Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and accused him of ignoring the welfare of his people while eyeing a national role for himself. "KCR is visiting other states and meeting leaders. He went to Kolkata, then Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Bihar. Look after your own house first. By your actions, you are weakening the party which is alive from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and ready to fight the BJP."

"If you are against the BJP, why did you support them on the farm laws? KCR claims to be in favour of a non-BJP government but is working in tandem with them. KCR's government is there because of the support of the people of Telangana. But they are trying to destroy everything. There is no difference between KCR and PM Modi, both are together," he added.

Bharat Jodo Yatra is at its final leg in the state and Kharge joined Rahul Gandhi at the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road. A street corner meeting was held which saw a huge crowd.
