New Delhi: India has made it clear its stand on the Galwan valley, rejecting China's claim that the entire incident along the LAC in Eastern Ladakh was the result of India's encroachment on its territory, violating all agreements.
Ministry of External Affairs' official spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that it was China's provocative behaviour and unilateral attempts to alter the status quo as against all bilateral agreements, leading to the serious disturbance of peace and tranquillity.
Earlier in the day, while responding to a question on the Quad summit, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said in Beijing that "a closed, exclusive clique targeting other countries runs counter to the trend of the times and the aspirations of regional countries". He added it will find no support and was doomed to fail.
