Hyderabad woman stalks, kidnaps TV anchor to marry him

Telangana: A Hyderabad-based video jockey was kidnapped by a businesswoman who was keen to marry him after seeing an impostor with his photo on a matchmaking website. According to investigators, the woman installed a tracking device on his car and hired kidnappers to do the job. She was arrested after the video jockey lodged a complaint.

The woman, 31, owned a digital marketing company, while the man worked as an anchor for a music channel, NDTV reported.

She started conversing with the VJ two years ago after finding a profile on Bharat Matrimony with his images. When she realised it wasn't a genuine account, she contacted the VJ independently through an instant messaging service.

He informed her that it was a fake account made using his photo and that he had filed a police report. However, she persisted in messaging him, prompting him to block her phone number, according to police.

The saga may have ended here, but she was determined to marry the video jockey.

According to authorities, she planned to kidnap him and paid four men to do so. She also installed an AirTag on his car to track his movements.

The VJ was kidnapped on February 11. They thrashed him and brought him to the woman's office. Police stated she let him go only after he agreed to answer her calls.

Once released, he rushed straight to the Uppal police station and filed a complaint, which resulted in the arrest of the woman and the four kidnappers.
