Hindu-Muslim should unite on nationalism, ancestors' glory: RSS Chief

Ghaziabad: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stressed the need for unity of all Indians, irrespective of all religious lines, without which the development of the country could not be fructified. The nationalism and the glory of ancestors should be the basis of the unity, he said while addressing a gathering of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, RSS's minority wing, in Ghaziabad.

Since the DNA of all Indians is the same, there is no difficulty for all faiths to unite for the cause of the country, he said underlying that only dialogue could resolve the issues between the Hindus and Muslims. The discord between the Hindus and Muslims should be abolished through dialogue for a common cause of the country, Bhagwat said emphasising the importance of an atmosphere where a fruitful dialogue among different faiths could take place.

In democratic India, no Hindu or Muslim could exert their dominance but Indians dominance should prevail in the country, the RSS chief said. The differences between Hindus and Muslims do not make them different classes in society, he said adding that one is not a Hindu if he believes no Muslim has the right to live in the country.

Talking about the mob lynching, particularly in the name of cow, he said the attack on others in no way could link with the Hindutva and those who are indulging in such acts are against the Hindutva. He also wanted the law should take stringent action against those who are indulging in lynching without any partiality.

But there are also incidents of false cases being registered against people in the name of lynching, he added. Bhagwat said the politics could only divide the people further on many lines, urging Muslims not to get trapped in the cycle of fear that Islam is in danger in India.

"Even if a section from the majority community shows aggression against the minority, its opposition comes from within the majority community. If I give an aggressive and angry speech, the Hindu will not support me," Bhagwat said.

In the very beginning of his speech, the RSS chief said, he was not in any way in the process of image building or makeover nor for gaining votes, underlying the apolitical stand of the RSS.
