Hina Khan expresses disappointment over not being invited to the Cannes opening ceremony

Actress Hina Khan has been treating her fans with stunning fashion choices at Cannes. However, she wasn't invited to the opening ceremony of the India Pavilion at Cannes. She expressed disappointment that she was excluded from the event. The Big Boss star also called out the elitist system.

The Indian Pavilion was inaugurated by I&B Minister Anurag Thakur in the presence of many celebrities including Deepika Padukone, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Urvashi Rautela and singer Mame Khan. She told Film Companion that she could have at least been invited as an audience.

Khan said she is proud of her country but disheartened that she wasn't there. "They were doing ghoomar (dance). I saw that video and I am proud of my country." She, however, did not blame the people who attended the ceremony. "I don't blame the celebrities. I feel it's the people on the field who act". She added that everyone belongs to the same industry and has come here to represent India.

She is at Cannes for the poster launch of her upcoming Indo-English film 'Country of Blind'. The popular TV star walked the red carpet on Thursday in an off-shoulder lavender gown with a ruffle design. Her choice of attire and minimal makeup has won hearts. She also posted a photo of herself in a golden gown in the streets of Cannes. Speaking about her film, she said she is very excited to launch it from the Indian pavilion.
