Hyderabad: In a remarkable display of bravery and quick thinking, Constable Kumari Sanita of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) averted a potentially fatal accident at Begumpet railway station today. A video of the heart-stopping incident has been making rounds on social media, highlighting Sanita's valiant efforts to rescue a passenger in distress.

The heart-pounding footage captured the passenger desperately clinging onto a moving Hyderabad MMTS train, her legs flailing in the air, as concerned onlookers inside the train and a person running alongside tried to assist her. Recognizing the imminent danger, Constable Sanita sprang into action, sprinting towards the endangered passenger from the opposite direction.

Sanita reached the struggling individual just in the nick of time, extending a helping hand to pull her to safety. The passenger, who was attempting to board the train as it gained speed, would have faced a perilous fate if not for the constable's prompt response. Safely guided by Sanita, the passenger managed to step back onto the platform, avoiding the treacherous gap between the train and tracks that could have proven fatal.

The Railway Protection Force promptly shared the video of the daring rescue on various social media platforms, hailing Constable Kumari Sanita for her exceptional presence of mind and courage. "Hats off to Kumari Sanita whose readiness worked like a shield and protected a lady passenger from imminent danger at Begumpet railway station," the RPF stated while sharing the remarkable footage.

Tragically, incidents like these serve as grim reminders of the catastrophic consequences that can arise when caution is neglected. In December last year, a young woman lost her life at Duvvada railway station in Andhra Pradesh after becoming trapped in the gap between the platform and a moving train.
