Rohtak / Haryana: A man in Haryana's Rohtak buried alive his tenant in a 7-foot deep pit after discovering the tenant was having an affair with his wife.

Jagdeep, who was a yoga teacher at the Baba Mastnath University in Rohtak, lived in a wing of Hardeep’s house, NDTV reported.

Murdered in December last year, Jagdeep’s body was recovered on Monday after the arrest of the accused following investigation.

Hardeep reportedly discovered that the yoga teacher, who was originally from Mandothi village in Jhajjar district, was having an affair with his wife.

Afterwards, he had some people dig a 7-foot deep pit in Pantavas village of Charkhi Dadri under the pretext of digging a borewell.

On December 24, Hardeep and his friends kidnapped Jagdeep who was returning from work.

Beating up him, they tied up his hands and legs before taking him to the pit in Charkhi Dadri.

The gang taped his mouth to stop him making any noise and threw him in the pit. Afterwards they filled the pit with mud thus burying him alive.

Ten days later on January 3, a missing person’s complaint was filled at the Shivaji Colony Police station.

Police remained clueless about the yoga teacher’s disappearance until they accessed Jagdeep's call records.

They gathered enough evidence and detained Hardeep and one of his friends, Dharampal.

After getting them in custody, police questioned the two men and gained details about the murder.

Three months after the murder, the yoga teacher’s body was recovered on Monday.

Kuldeep Singh, the officer in charge of the probe, said: ‘There are other accused in the case, who will also be arrested soon. The post-mortem has been conducted and we are waiting for the report.’
