New Delhi: The Haryana BJP has expelled eight rebels for six years after they filed nominations to contest against the party candidates including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
State party chief Mohan Lal Badoli in a statement said the leaders that the party expelled included former minister Ranjit Chautala and senior leader Sandeep Garg.
Ranjit Chautala had quit the party after he was denied ticket, while Sandeep Garg is contesting against the Chief Minister.
Zile Ram Sharma, who filed nomination for Assandh seat, former minister Bachan Singh Arya is contesting for Safido, Radha Ahlawat for Meham, Naveen Goyal for Gurgaon and Kehar Singh Rawat for Hathin and former MLA Devendra Kadyan have decided to go against the party candidates.
After he was denied ticket to run for Rania he represented in Assembly as independent MLA, Ranjit Chautala quit the party.
Faced with rebellion, the Congress expelled 13 leaders for "anti-party activities" after they decided to run against the party candidates in the polls.
