New Delhi: A day after exit polls predicted political abeyance in Goa, the Congress in the state woke up from slumber.
Attempting to salvage at least a state from failure across the nation, the leadership is planning to act, in case of a hung Assembly in the state. The likelihood of state choosing among none of the parties is highly talked about.
Alongside, the congress is perceiving clear threat from BJP's tricks to retain power.
The party has entrusted Karnataka chief D.K. Shivakumar with the task of outmaneuvering BJP thus gaining back power.
Back in 2017, despite emerged as the largest party in the state the congress couldn't pick a chief minister between Digambar Kamat and Luizinho Falerio—eventually Falerio crossed over to TMC.
The central leadership will enter in dialogue with TMC, NCP and AAP, while Shivakumar will hold together lawmakers. The Trinamool is silent about its plans keeping equidistance between BJP and the Congress. One party already leaning to BJP is MGP which is an ally of TMC too.
Camping in the state for three days, Shivakumar will see to it that the grand old party not miss another opportunity. Exit polls yesterday predicted a hung Assembly for the state with Congress and BJP having equal chances. The situation will give decisive roles to small parties including MGP and TMC in the 40-member Assembly.
