Epstein suggested ‘tall Swedish blonde’, Anil Ambani said ‘arrange that’: Epstein files

The new exposure about the once business tycoon Anil Ambani’s exchanges with the convicted paedophile, disgraced financier and US business broker Jeffrey Epstein, and the latter later availing women of the former’s taste, has been found in the newly released Epstein files, where one of the suggestive exchanges reveals that Ambani preferred a tall Swedish blonde woman, as suggested by Epstein.

According to documents reviewed by Bloomberg, text messages exchanged between Epstein and Ambani between 2017 and 2019 reveal how the convicted sex offender leveraged his access to women while cultivating ties with global elites, even after his 2008 guilty plea for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

In one exchange dated March 9, 2017, Ambani asked Epstein, “K. Who do u suggest?”, to which Epstein promptly replied, “a tall swedish blonde woman, to make it fun to visit,” prompting Ambani to respond within seconds, “arrange that”.

The conversation took a more explicit turn when Epstein pressed further, asking, “is there an actress or model that represents your proclivity? I hope not Meryl Streep. I will be of no help,” and Ambani replied, “better taste my friend, Our next movie is with Scarlett Johansson.”

Epstein followed up with the remark, “I am glad you prefer young blondes to old ones,” an exchange that Bloomberg noted occurred when Reliance Entertainment had co-produced the 2017 film Ghost in the Shell starring Johansson.

The files further show that Epstein continued offering discreet access to women years later, and when Ambani informed him of a visit to New York in May 2019, Epstein suggested, “And if there are some people you would like to meet quietly. Let me know.” The two later met at Epstein’s Upper East Side Manhattan townhouse, now infamous for what prosecutors say occurred behind its closed doors.

Beyond arranging meetings, Epstein appeared intent on understanding Ambani’s personal and business background, having ordered books such as Ambani and Sons and Storms in the Sea Wind: Ambani Vs Ambani in 2017, as per records cited by Bloomberg.

The files also reveal Epstein discussing Ambani with author Deepak Chopra, who described him as “V rich, V much wanting to be noticed, V celebrity conscious,” while noting that the Ambani brothers “didn’t get along”.

The disclosures come amid Ambani’s sharp fall from prominence, with the businessman having told a UK court in 2020 that he had zero net worth, and with India’s Supreme Court earlier this week directing the Enforcement Directorate to form a Special Investigation Team to probe alleged large-scale bank fraud involving his companies, developments that have further tarnished the image of the once-powerful tycoon.
