Anil Ambani to appear before CBI over SBI fraud case linked to RCOM

New Delhi: Industrialist Anil Ambani will appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at its Delhi headquarters on March 19-20 in connection with an FIR filed by the State Bank of India (SBI) over alleged fraud at Reliance Communications Ltd (RCOM).

A spokesperson for Ambani confirmed: “Anil D. Ambani will be appearing before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Delhi on 19th and 20th March, 2026 for examination, in connection with the FIR registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the State Bank of India regarding Reliance Communications Ltd. (RCOM).” The industrialist has committed to full cooperation with all agencies.

Last week, Ambani's son Jai Anmol Ambani faced two days of CBI questioning in a separate ₹228 crore fraud case involving Reliance Home Finance Ltd (RHFL). He was probed alongside RHFL's former CEO Ravindra Sudhalkar and others.

The CBI registered that case on December 6, 2025, based on a Union Bank of India complaint alleging criminal conspiracy, cheating, and misconduct by RHFL promoters, directors, and unknown bank officials—causing a ₹228.06 crore loss (from ex-Andhra Bank).

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate attached over ₹581 crore in properties of Ambani group firms Reliance Home Finance Ltd (RHFL) and Reliance Commercial Finance Ltd (RCFL).
