New Delhi: According to police, a 40-year-old man allegedly smothered his wife and son in their Shahdara house at around 3.40 pm on Saturday. The incident took place in Geeta Colony, Shahdara.
Initially, police believed the man committed the crime because of financial difficulties. However, they noted that further investigation would ascertain the exact reason for the murder. The suspect, Sachin, is still at large, they said.
Kanchan Arora, 35, and her 15-year-old son, were found dead at Sachin Arora's house, said Deputy Commissioner of Police R Sathiyasundaram. The body of the woman was found on a bed, and the boy's was found on the floor, the official said.
Sachin, the grocery shop owner, confessed to killing his wife and son via WhatsApp.
The boy, also a Class 9 student, was found dead at the spot, the police said, adding that forensic teams have examined the evidence.
"Our team from the Geeta Colony police station and special staff are searching for Sachin" the officer added.
