Delhi man who killed a girl in the street tells police ‘no regrets’

New Delhi: A 20-year-old man arrested for murdering a girl the other day in a street in Delhi told police that he had no regrets.

He allegedly confessed to the crime during overnight questioning, saying that he was in ‘a fit of rage’.

The 16-year-old girl who was attacked as passersby watched suffered 34 wounds and her head was crushed with a slab.

A friend of hers told NDTV that the girl was out shopping for a birthday party on Sunday evening, when she was attacked.

Sahil, who is an AC repairman, was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.

Sahil reportedly told the police that the girl had broken up with him and he believed she was seeing a former boyfriend.

He thought the ex-boyfriend with whom the girl allegedly involved was a hooligan and he feared him.

Sahil dated the girl for three years but the girl had ended the relationship with him, which enraged him, according to the police.

A footage of the act emerged on Sunday showed Sahil stabbing her until after she went numb, before picked up a slab and hit her multiple times.

People walked past them in shock without however doing nothing to stop the crime.

After the crime, Sahil abandoned the knife and took a bus to aunt’s home in Bulandshahr where he hid.

Until police were alerted, the girl's body lay on the street for around 25 minutes.

The girl was reportedly trying to keep Sahil away with one time even scaring him away a with a toy gun.
