Dalit youth killed over interfaith love in Karnataka

Kalaburagi, (Karnataka): Police arrested two men on Friday after a 25-year-old Dalit youth was killed over interfaith love, here.

Vijaya Kamble, a resident of Bheema Nagar Layout here in Wadi town, was killed on Wednesday night.

He was attacked by a gang with weapons, stone and bricks near the railway bridge. Kamble bled to death at the spot.

Kamble was in love with a girl of another religion. Her family opposed the relationship, according to the police.

Shahabuddin, the brother of the girl and his associate were arrested in connection with the murder.

The accused had disappeared after the incident.

As the area was tensed up after the murder, police beefed up security in sensitive pockets.

Meanwhile, Siddalinga Swamiji of Sri Rama Sena will visit the bereaved family to pay condolence
