Dalit boy assaulted for touching water bucket in Rajasthan's Alwar

Alwar: In Rajasthan's Alwar district, an eight-year-old Dalit boy was reportedly attacked for coming into contact with an upper caste man's water bucket, situated near a handpump at a government school.

The incident occurred in the Ramgarh area, where the boy, a fourth-grade student at the school, had gone to fetch water from the handpump.

"A complaint was lodged by the boy's father, alleging that Thakur assaulted his son for touching his bucket. The matter is under investigation," stated Ramgarh SHO Sawai Singh.

The complaint, filed by the boy's father, Ratiram, detailed the assault allegedly perpetrated by Thakur, who runs a tea stall in the village.
