New Delhi: Delhi on Tuesday recorded 521 new Covid-19 cases which is the highest single-day rise since 27 August 2022. One fatality was also recorded by the city health department.
According to official data, the positivity rate is at 15.64%. The health bulletin noted that the primary cause of death was not coronavirus and the infection was incidental.
With today's fresh cases, the city's Covid tally has increased to 20,11,555. The data showed that 3,331 Covid tests were conducted on Monday. The capital city has witnessed an increase in the number of fresh Covid cases over the last few days.
CM Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that his government is keeping an eye on the outbreak and the city is "prepared to face any eventuality." He added that there is no need to worry now.
Delhi recorded 293 fresh cases on Monday with the positivity rate rising to 18.53%. Delhi saw 429 Covid cases on Sunday, with a positivity rate of 16.09%. 416 cases were reported on Saturday with a positivity rate of 14.37%.
In the last few months, the capital city had seen a decline in Covid-cases with recording no cases at all on January 16.
