Covid-19: India registers 11,539 fresh case; marginal decline


New Delhi: India registered 11,539 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours as of 8 am Sunday, updated the Union Health Ministery. It reported 43 more Covid deaths taking the cumulative death toll to 5,27,332, IANS reported.

However, the new positive case count is marginally less than the day before, which was 13,272.

The active caseload also declined to 99,879 cases, which is 0.23 per cent of the country's total positive cases. 12,783 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, thus taking the cumulative recovery count to 4,37,12,218. India's recovery rate rests at 98.59 per cent.

The daily positivity rate also came down marginally to 3.75 per cent, though the weekly positivity rate continued to stay on 3.88 per cent.

In the mentioned period, a total of 3,07,680 tests were conducted across the country, increasing the overall tally to over 88.24 crores. Meanwhile, vaccination coverage went past 209.67 crore over 2,79,10,768 sessions. Over 3.99 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of the vaccination drive for this age bracket.
