Court sends notice to Kangana Ranaut over remarks on Gandhi and farmers

Agra: An MP-MLA court in Agra has issued a notice to Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut in response to a complaint alleging that she made objectionable remarks about Mahatma Gandhi and the farmers who protested against the now-repealed agricultural laws.

The complaint, filed by advocate Rama Shankar Sharma, claims that Ranaut’s comments were disrespectful to both Gandhi, often referred to as the "Father of the Nation," and the country’s farmers. "I filed the case in the Agra MP-MLA Court on September 11, 2024, against Kangana Ranaut, who is also the MP from Mandi," said Sharma. According to the complaint, Ranaut's remarks allegedly insulted millions of farmers and were disrespectful to Mahatma Gandhi.

The court has requested a response from Ranaut regarding the complaint and has scheduled a hearing for November 28, 2024.

The notice seeks a statement from Ranaut regarding these remarks, which reportedly targeted the farmer protests and Mahatma Gandhi, according to media sources.
