CJP gives Rajasthan government 48-hour ultimatum over school attack

Jaipur: The CJP has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Rajasthan government over an alleged attack on its volunteers who visited a government school for an inspection, warning of statewide protests and demanding the resignation of Education Minister Madan Dilawar if those responsible are not arrested.

CJP co-convener Ashutosh Rang alleged that the government school had been operating from a cattle shed for several years and that the organisation had inspected the facility previously. According to the party, BJP workers were already present at the site when its team arrived and allegedly assaulted the volunteers.

The CJP claimed that vehicles were damaged, phones were destroyed, and several people, including a woman, were attacked. Rang also alleged that police intervention failed to stop the violence and that one of the party’s workers was injured in stone-pelting. He described the incident, which allegedly took place in the presence of journalists, as a serious blow to Rajasthan’s democratic record.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke warned that he would travel to Jaipur and begin a hunger strike unless repairs to the school were initiated and those accused of the attack were arrested.

The BJP has rejected the allegations. Minister Jawahar Singh accused Congress workers of disguising themselves as CJP members to disturb peace in villages, while another minister, Avinash Gehlot, dismissed the CJP as an anarchist political outfit.

The confrontation has escalated into a political dispute over both the condition of the government school and the alleged assault on the inspection team.
