CBI raids at Manish Sisodia's house, 20 other places in excise policy case

The CBI on Friday carried out searches at over 10 locations in Delhi-NCR including the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the Delhi excise policy case, officials said. The CBI has registered an FIR in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy brought in November last year, they said.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena had recommended a CBI probe into the Kejriwal government's Excise Policy, 2021-22, over alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses

The residences of three officials of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government are also being searched, sources have said.

"CBI is here at my residence. I will cooperate with the probe agency, they will not find anything against me," Manish Sisodia tweeted as news of the raids emerged.

In a veiled attack on the central government, Sisodia said these people are troubled because of the excellent work done by the Delhi government in the health and education sector and that is why ministers of both departments are targeted. "Truth will come out in the court," he said.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal said that the probe agency officials did not find anything against his government during the earlier searches, and nothing will come out this time as well.

The CBI has registered a First Information Report or FIR in connection with alleged irregularities in the formulation and execution of the Delhi Excise Policy brought in November last year.
