Bulli bai main conspirator Niraj Bishnoi suspended from college

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Bhopal campus has suspended Niraj Bishnoi, the alleged mastermind behind the 'Bulli Bai' app, following his arrest. The 21-year-old was a second-year B Tech student at the Madhya Pradesh-based engineering college who had only attended online classes.

The VIT administration took action against Bishnoi soon after his involvement in the case came to light, an official of the institute said on Friday. Bishnoi is the main conspirator in the case of the controversial Bulli Bai app hosted on Github, which listed hundreds of Muslim women for 'auction'. He was arrested on Thursday from Jorhat in Assam. The Delhi Police has informed that Bishnoi confessed to his role in the cases.

"Soon after we got information through the media and later through the Sehore police (about his arrest), we immediately suspended Bishnoi from the college. The management will take further action depending on what more details emerge," the college official said.

Though a bright student, Bishnoi never attended physical classes at the VIT campus, Sehore additional superintendent of police (ASP) Samir Yadav said, citing college authorities.

Bishnoi is originally from Rajasthan, and cops are probing his links with Sehore, Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra said.

After Bishnoi's arrest (the fourth in the case), the Delhi Police issued a statement saying they solved the case.
