Believers of Tipu Sultan will do Karnataka no good: Amit Shah

Mangaluru: Since the Congress and the JD(S) believe in Tipu Sultan, the 18th-century Mysuru rule, both could do no good for Karnataka, Union Home MInisteer Amit Shah claimed on Saturday.

Shah hailed the BJP government in the state. He said that inspired by 16th century Tuluva queen of Ullal Rani Abbakka Chowta, the government will deliver a prosperous rule in the state, PTI reported.

According to Shah, the Congress party was corrupt and used Karnataka as an "Automated Teller Machine (ATM) for the Gandhi family", PTI quoted him.

"When I have come here, let me ask you. Should people vote for the JD(S) and Congress who believe in Tipu or the BJP, which has faith in Rani Abbakka?" he asked.

"Who should form the next government in Karnataka -- the BJP, which is a team of patriots led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi or a corrupt Congress, which used Karnataka as an ATM for the Gandhi family?"

Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah was in Karnataka's Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district to attend the golden jubilee celebration of the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Co-operative Limited (CAMPCO),

Shah claimed, "Karnataka prospered whenever there was a BJP government," adding that Congress and the JD(S) will not do any good for the state.

Shah went on to claim that farmers across the country remember former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa for his pro-farmers' measures. But Shah seems to have forgotten that it was Yediyurappa who claimed that those protesting the farm laws were "selfish" people. Shah, however, added that under Yediyurappa, Bengaluru prospered.
