Audience welcomed "Political correctness"; now Asian Book of Records

This is the era of post-truth. What is being propagated has become truth, and the ultimate goal of fabricated truths is gain.The National Awards are marking this era through fantastic imagery.

The short film "Political Correctness", produced by one of the leading Malayalam filmmakers AVA Productions, has gathered much acclaim from the audience. Although the movie is short, it has been made using technologies used in feature films.

The movie is unique because the cast is from Kozhikode's "Pushpa Vilasam" family. More than 50 members of the family, which is known for its passion for acting, scattered around the world were gathered and cast in the film. However, all those cast, age ranging from five to 88, have no prior experience in acting. They include AV Anoop, former health department director RL Saritha and Kannur Labor Court judge RL Baiju. Also, Sandeep, who directed the film, and Durga Aravind, who wrote the lyrics, are family members.

AV Anoop dons a politician, Ram Mohan Thampi, loved locals. The film opens with Thampi's son Abhijit receiving the National Award for Bravery for saving the life of a 10-year-old girl who drowned in a river. While the 14-year-old boy receives the award, a book born out of his teenage thoughts, titled "Abhiprayam 14", also gets released. While the award and the book were being celebrated by the family along with the natives, a new character enters the fore, shocking Thampi and "Political Correctness" enters crossroads.

The film is available on YouTube and is being broadcast on TV.
