Appeasement politics turns criminals in the state fearless: Udaipur MP

New Delhi: BJP MP from Udaipur, Arjun Lal Meena said Rajasthan government's 'appeasement politics' made criminals in the state fearless.

Whenever BJP was in power in the state, law and order prevailed having the fear of police been instilled in the minds of criminals, he said.

Arjun Lal Meena was talking to IANS in the wake of daylight beheading of a man inside his tailoring shop taken place in Meenas constituency.

"Former Vice President of India, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, was the Chief Minister of the state thrice (1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992 and 1993 to 1998). Later, Vasundhara Raje became the Chief Minister for two terms (2003 to 2008 and 2013 to 2018). But such incidents never happened during their tenure," Meena told IANS.

Because of the appeasement politics of the Congress, he said, the law and order situation has collapsed in the state, aiding the criminals.

Meena said the threatening message to PM Modi that went viral along with the brutal killing is of a serious concern.

While appreciating the police for immediately arresting the culprits, he questioned the administration's functioning asking why no action was taken despite Kanahiya Lal reported the police about death threats against him.

This indicates that there is no law and order in the state, he added.

The MP said the compensation declared by the state government could not be the cost of a life.

Meena also said there have been reports that one of the accused was trained in Pakistan and an organisation is involved in the incident.

Meena appealed for not repeating such brutal incident anywhere in the country.
