Another cheating case filed against NCB witness Kiran Gosavi

Mumbai: Another FIR has been lodged against an NCB witness Kiran Gosavi in the drugs-on-cruise case. A man named Vijaykumar Siddhling Kanade has alleged that Gosavi cheated him through a job racket.

This is the fourth FIR filed against the self-styled detective in the Pune district. He had gone viral on social media after posting a selfie with Aryan Khan, who was at the time held by NCB after the raid.

Vijaykumar Siddhling Kanade is a native of the Latur district but lives in Bhosari. The statement given to police says that Kanade was searching for a job in 2015 and used various online portals for the same. On March 3, he received a call from Shiva International offering him a job in a hotel abroad.

Gosavi allegedly paid a total of Rs 2.25 lakh from the complainant on various occasions, through both cash and online transactions. Kanade never got the job. The police filed the case under Sections 420 and 406 of the Indian Penal Code, reported The Indian Express.

Gosavi is currently in custody for connection with a job racket case lodged at the Lashkar police station. He was arrested after a hotel management graduate accused him of duping on the pretext of a job in Malaysia and losing Rs 3.09 lakh. The Lashkar and Wanwadi police stations have received four more complaints of similar nature after his arrest.

Kiran Gosavi was declared an absconder by a court in 2019. His presence during the drug raid and Aryan Khan's arrest was criticised by many. Pune Police soon issued a look-out circular against him to prevent him from leaving the country. His assistant Sherbano Qureshi from Govandi was also arrested on October 18. The police alleged that the money in the cheating case went into her account.
