Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah introduced the BJP's manifesto for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, promising to protect the state’s livelihood, land, and daughters from infiltrators.
During his address, Shah criticized the current government for failing to safeguard tribal communities and for allowing infiltrators to threaten Jharkhand's identity and resources. He emphasized that the election is about securing Jharkhand's future and asked voters to choose between a corrupt administration and a BJP government focused on development.
Shah expressed concern over unemployment and exam paper leaks affecting the youth, stating that the people of Jharkhand deserve a government that supports the poor rather than one that engages in corruption. He reassured the audience that the BJP keeps its promises, highlighting that many communities in Jharkhand are looking to the party with hope.
He affirmed the manifesto's commitment to preserving Jharkhand's unique identity and pledged to combat corruption and improve governance. Shah accused the ruling Hemant Soren-led government of blocking development projects initiated by the previous BJP government.
Addressing tribal concerns, he warned that infiltrators were not only taking land but also disrupting local culture. Shah pointed out the significance of Droupadi Murmu, a daughter from a poor tribal background, becoming the President of India, showcasing the BJP’s commitment to development.
Shah challenged Soren's call for a review of central government allocations, highlighting that the BJP government had provided significantly more funding to Jharkhand compared to previous administrations.
He pledged that if the BJP returns to power, it will eliminate intruders from Jharkhand. "In Assam, the BJP government acted decisively against infiltrators. Hemant Soren, you have failed to protect the women of Jharkhand," he said.
He also criticized the current government for rising safety issues and women's rights violations, claiming that Jharkhand now ranks second in minor trafficking and abductions. Shah pledged that a BJP government would work to remove intruders from Jharkhand and ensure safety for women.
He highlighted the BJP’s plans, including creating 5 lakh jobs for the youth within five years and setting the price of gas cylinders for women at Rs 500, along with offering an additional free cylinder during festivals.
The 'Sankalp Patra' includes 150 resolutions focusing on agriculture, women's welfare, youth employment, and infrastructure development.
meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jharkhand on Monday for two rallies, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also hold a public meeting in Jamshedpur on November 5.
