All set to face elections : Congress

The Congress said on Saturday that the organization is ready for the forthcoming electoral fight in five states and has made it clear that the party will fight for farmers, youth, women, and other sections of society.

On Saturday, the Election Commission of India announced that elections would be held for the five state assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gao, Punjab, and Manipur from February 10 to March 7 and the results will be announced on March 10.

Congress spokesperson KC Venugopal stated that We are confident that people will trust Congress once again," he added, "ECI has announced the schedule for the elections in five states. We are ready to unite with farmers, youth, women, and all our people to fight against the arrogant & apathetic BJP."

Sushil Chandra, India's Chief Election Commissioner, said the polling will take place in two phases in Uttar Pradesh on February 27 and March 3; in Punjab, Goa, and Uttarakhand on February 14, as well as Manipur in two phases on February 27 and March 3.

All parties have been advised to conduct their campaigns virtually up until January 15. Roadshows, padayatra, or vehicle rallies will not be allowed prior to January 15. The election will be conducted following the strict Covid protocol
