Kutch: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has declared on Saturday that the party will contest the upcoming Gujarat elections. Party president Asaduddin Owaisi said that AIMIM has been preparing since municipal polls in Ahmedabad and Surat, Asian News International reported.
He told reporters in Gujarat's Bhuj that his party will fight the polls with full strength, though they have not yet decided about the number of seats. Sabir Kabliwala (AIMIM Gujarat chief) will make the right decision in this regard, he said.
The MP from Hyderbad said also said he came to Gujarat to strengthen his party there. AIMIM will field a candidate in Bhuj too.
Asaduddin Owaisi also lashed out at the centre over the communal clashes
that took place in Ranchi.
Further, Owaisi slammed the Union government over the Ranchi communal clashes. He said that it is imperative for democracy to ensure that there is no violence inside it, and the government has a duty to stop if one occurs. There was firing at people in Ranchi, he said. An FIR has been lodged against Nupur Sharma for her problematic comments, which is enough, and AIMIM need no apology from her, he added.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party is optimistic after the February 2021 Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections, where they won 27 seats and BJP 93. However, Congress won zero.
