A man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Agra after posting a video complaining about pothole-ridden roads in his locality and making remarks against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In the video, Rafiq Khan is seen showing the damaged road and saying, "UP ka mukhyamantri takla! Yeh hai vikas!"
According to Agra Police, Khan was arrested for making derogatory remarks against the chief minister after the video was reported.
A separate video that surfaced on Sunday showed Khan coming out of a lockup with folded hands, apologising for the video. In the clip, he says, "Maine video banayi, galti ho gayi. Ab kabhi nahi banaunga, mujhe maaf kar do." (I made a video. It was wrong. I won't do it again. Forgive me.)
In a post on its official X account, Agra Police appealed to the public to use social media responsibly and maintain decorum.
"Agra Police appeals to the general public to use social media responsibly and with decorum. Refrain from sharing or disseminating indecent, misleading, objectionable, or content that affects law and order," the police said.
