Actor Anupam Kher's face on fake currency notes seized in Gujarat

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher found his face featured in counterfeit currency notes recovered from Gujarat.

The actor expressed surprise at seeing his face on Rs 500 notes where it should been the face of Mahatma Gandhi.

Footage surfaced online showed notes worth Rs 1.6 crore seized by Ahmedabad police.

The notes displayed the name 'Resole Bank of India' instead of 'Reserve Bank of India.'

Sharing one of the videos circulating on line, Kher said "My photo instead of Gandhiji’s photo on Rs 500 notes???? Anything can happen (sic).

It is reported citing The Indian Express that the fake notes were seized after bullion firm owner Mehul, Thakkar, was duped.

Police have filed a case against some unidentified persons in the state.
