Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will be starring in a third Dulhania film. Previous films in the franchise - Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) - were box office hits.
Being one of the most beloved pairs in Bollywood, Varun and Alia are known for their chemistry. The Dulhaniya franchise is known for the relatable love stories the young generation of small towns of India love. Their screen presence played a crucial role in the success of both films.
A source told Pinkvilla that the Dulhania franchise is extremely special for Karan Johar (producer), Varun, Alia, and Shashank Khaitan (director). "The team really wants to come together for part 3. They have discussed a few ideas among themselves, however, they are yet to finalise the script. Once the story is locked they will figure out the other logistics."
"Just like the first two parts, the third film too will thrive on romance, endearing characters, and the overall innocence of the story and the characters," revealed the source. Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya was not a sequel to Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya in terms of plot. Both movies played on a common theme of romance and relatable characters.
