The 2004 romantic drama Veer Zaara, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide after its recent re-release.

Directed by Yash Chopra, the film returned to theatres on September 13 and garnered over Rs 1.75 crore in its first week back on screens, bringing its total box office collection to Rs 101.75 crore globally, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.

Initially, Veer Zaara had concluded its original run with a global gross of Rs 97 crore, and with several re-releases over the years, the film has now joined the Rs 100 crore club.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the milestone in a post on Instagram, noting that the film performed well despite being screened in limited cinemas. He highlighted that the movie’s re-release, across 282 theatres in its first week, attracted significant audience interest, with more footfall expected on National Cinema Day, when tickets were priced at Rs 99.

Adarsh shared detailed box office numbers, explaining that after its 2004 release, Veer Zaara grossed Rs 61 crore in India and Rs 37 crore overseas, totaling Rs 98 crore. Re-releases between 2005 and 2023 added another Rs 2.50 crore, with February 2024 contributing Rs 0.30 crore and September 2024 adding Rs 1.80 crore, bringing the overall total to Rs 102.60 crore.
