Sci-fi video game lets users play as stray cats, Takes internet by storm

Less than a week ago, a video game called Stray started making rounds among the gaming community. It has now reached people who have zero interest in video games because the star of the show is a stray cat.

The adventure sci-fi game lets players be cats. The central character is a cat uncovering a mystery in a futuristic, cyber-punk-inspired city, reported Tech Insider. Users are also taken by the fact that this city is taken by robots.

The game starts with a group of stray cats discussing how it will be to go to "the outside", supposedly the city. The main character, your cat avatar, gets separated from the safety of its group and ends up in the strange city. You will have to navigate obstacles to continue the journey.

On top of that, the city is falling apart and has an abandoned vibe to it. Players (aka cats) will also have to run from Zurks, tick-like creatures that occasionally attack with the intention of murder.

But, there are zip lines placed around the city for you to cover distance via rooftops. You will also find a robot companion who will help you unlock doors and secrets. Robots are also searching for a way out of the mysterious city and they need to find notebooks to learn the clues to escape.

Cat lovers are happy to know that there is also a dedicated button for "meow".

Developed by indie French game company BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, Stray is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, and PC. The short reception indicates that the game is going to be an online phenomenon.
