Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is celebrating his 41st birthday, has unveiled his striking new look as Varadharaja Mannaar in Prashant Neel's highly anticipated film, "Salaar."
The movie, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is set to release on December 22nd and will be a two-part film, similar to the "KGF" series.
Prithviraj's character look in the film is unlike anything he has portrayed before.
In this new look, Prithviraj embodies a character with a compelling and enigmatic aura. His calm demeanor contrasts with the overall intense and dark theme. The color palette primarily features shades of black and grey, lending a grim and chaotic quality to his character. Notable elements include a septum ring and a black tilak adorning his forehead, completing the majestic appearance.
Prithviraj had taken a hiatus from his film commitments due to a recent injury and knee surgery, which he sustained during the filming of his upcoming Malayalam film, "Vilayath Buddha." However, his recovery has been impressive, and he is back in action, actively participating in film projects. The actor recently attended the pooja ceremony for his third directorial venture, "L2: Empuraan," starring Mohanlal in the lead role.
"L2: Empuraan" is the sequel to the 2019 film "Lucifer," marking Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial debut and featuring his cameo appearance.
The original film, starring Mohanlal, emerged as a massive success in the Malayalam film industry. The sequel, "L2," is poised to be even grander and is co-produced by Lyca Productions, making it their first venture in Malayalam cinema. The film marks the third collaboration between actors Mohanlal and Prithviraj in the director's chair, following "Lucifer" and the 2022 film "Bro Daddy."
On the other hand, "Salaar," directed by Prashant Neel, renowned for the "KGF" series, promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle similar to his previous works.
The film's release, originally planned for earlier this year, had to be postponed due to pending VFX work. "Salaar" is now scheduled for release on December 22nd, setting up a clash with other Christmas releases, including Shah Rukh Khan's "Dunki" and Dhanush's "Captain Miller."
This Prabhas-starrer has garnered significant anticipation, making it one of the most awaited films.
