Plea to ban Kangana's Twitter account: Court considers making it a PIL

The Bombay High Court on Thursday heard the plea to suspend Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account on the basis of "extremist" and "derogatory" tweets allegedly made by the actress. The plea was filed by Advocate Ali Kaushik Khan Deshmukh.

While hearing the plea, the court asked whether the petitioner had been personally offended by the tweets, which the petitioner denied. Following this, the bench led by Justice Shinde adjourned the case to next Monday and considered whether to take it up as a writ petition or public interest litigation.

Advocate Deshmukh has already filed two cases against Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel. On the basis of these complaints, a Mumbai court had already ordered an inquiry into the communal nature of their social media posts.
