Plea in Bombay High Court to ban Kangana Ranaut from Twitter

A plea to remove Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account has been submitted in the Bombay High Court, citing her "extremist/derogatory tweets" and attitude of "promoting crime in the country." The plea was filed by Adv. Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, who has previously filed two others against the actress and her sister Rangoli.

In his plea, Advocate Deshmukh also points out the complete lack of respect displayed by Kangana Ranaut and her sister towards the judiciary of India and also alleges that Twitter is not following its own guidelines against hate speech.

The plea claims that despite multiple reports of hate speech, Kangana Ranaut's account remains untouched although Rangoli Chandel's was suspended on April 15 this year after she tweeted that members of the Tablighi Jamaat should have been "shot dead".

"It is already evident from the prima facie facts that Respondent No. 1 has no respect for the varied communities of India, law of the land, authorized government bodies," reads the plea, as reported by LiveLaw.

Advocate Deshmukh's previous two pleas had resulted in an FIR and enquiry into the tweets posted by Ranaut and her sister.
