Mumbai: In just two days, Shah Rukh Khan's comeback film Pathaan is on a record-breaking spree. In India alone, the film collected around Rs 163 crore in the opening weekend. The overseas collection is likely to be around $12.5 million. The Siddharth Anand-directed actioner is anticipated to hit a triple century at the global box office in just three days.
It will also emerge as an all-time grosser for Bollywood. Analysts think Pathaan will sell over one crore tickets in less than four days. It is already being called a historic blockbuster. The spy action thriller has already broken 75 records across the world.
Some of the records are the biggest non-holiday opening of all time, the biggest opening day of all time, the biggest single day of all time, the biggest second day of all time, and the biggest holiday collection of all time. It is also the first film to do Rs 50 crore on two consecutive days, the first film to do Rs 65 crore in a single day, the first film to do Rs 70 crore in a single day, the first film to enter Rs 100 crore in two days, and the fastest film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
Pathaan is also being marked as the first Bollywood film to score a Rs 1 crore day in Kerala, Assam, and Odisha; a Rs 4 crore day in West Bengal and Rs 5 crore a day in Andhra Pradesh; and a Rs 2 crore day in Bihar and Central India.
