Obscene remarks: Bobby Chemannur booked on actress' complaint

Kochi: Kerala Police registered a case against Bobby Group owner Bobby Chemmanur on a complaint filed by actress Honey Rose regarding obscene content against her on social media and inappropriate remarks that demeaned womanhood. The case has been registered under Section 75 (4) of the Indian Penal Code on obscene remarks with sexual overtones and under Section 67 of the IT Act against obscene remarks through electronic media.

The actress had filed a complaint in which she alleged that she faced sexual harassment when she was invited to Bobby Chemmanur's jewellery inauguration in Alakode, Kannur, on August 7 and the difficulties she faced at various venues after that.

She also filed a complaint against 20 YouTubers who used the actress's picture as a thumbnail in a bad manner.

Honey Rose announced that she had filed the complaint against Bobby Chemmanur on her social media page. The actress reacted strongly to the abusive remarks she had been facing from a prominent person for some time through her Facebook and Instagram pages the other day. However, the name of the insulter was not revealed. The actress named those who had made obscene comments under this post in her complaint. Subsequently, the police registered a case against 30 people and arrested a Kumbalam native.

In her post, she addressed Bobby Chemmanur, telling him to believe in the power of his money, and added that she believed in the power of the legal system in India.

Meanwhile, Bobby Chemmanur came forward with a response after actress Honey Rose’s complaint. He clarified that she had not said anything about the wrong intentions and that he was unaware of the circumstances that led her to file a complaint.

He said that he compared Honey Rose to Kunti Devi of Mahabharata months ago, during the mentioned inauguration event. He did not have any wrong intentions, and she had not made any complaint then, he said and added that Kunti Devi is not a bad thing. It was those on social media who misrepresented his words, he claimed.
