Following rumours of a delay in the film's release, KanganaRanaut took to Twitter to confirm that her biopic on former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha was still going to hit screens as planned on April 23.
"Kangana Ranaut with her team coming with 100cr budget film to save Bollywood," the actress said, alleging that even major Bollywood directors like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra did not have the courage to release films at this time.
She also lamented that instead of supporting her films or career, most of Bollywood had chosen to "gang up" on her.
"History might just write in golden letters the woman who was the outsider step child, was destined to be their saviour, you never know life have many ways of amusing us," she added.
The first song from 'Thalaivi' will be released on April 2. The film is directed by A.L Vijay and stars KanganaRanaut, Arvind Swamy, Bhagyashree, Madhoo and Prakash Raj in the lead roles.
