K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has been announced to be headlining the 2023 Coachella Vallery Music and Art Festival. The four-member group in a historic move has become the first ever K-pop group to headline the international event.
Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are set to take the stage on the second day of both three-day weekends. Their first-weekend stage is set for Saturday, April 15. And their second-weekend performance is on Saturday, April 22.
This is not the first time BLACKPINK is appearing at Coachella. Following the release of their third extended play, ‘Kill This Love’, they performed in the 2019 festival as well. They performed their popular tracks 'DDU-DU DDU-DU', 'Forever Young', 'Stay', 'Whistle', and 'Kiss and Make Up'. Jennie did a solo performance after which the rest of the group joined her for 'Kill This Love', 'Don’t Know What To Do', 'Kick It', 'See U Later', 'Playing with Fire', and 'BOOMBAYAH'.
Their performance in April is expected to be all about newer releases including 'Pink Venom' and 'Shut Down'. Fans are also expecting solo performances from every member. Rosé's 'On The Ground' and 'Gone' along with Lisa's 'LALISA' and 'Money' are on the list. With Jisoo's solo debut scheduled for 2023, fans are expecting a peek. She is the last BLACKPINK member to release a solo album.
Chinese singer Jackson Wang is also one of the most anticipated artists at the festival. The popular soloist was highly talked about after his stage performance at last year's Coachella as part of the 88Rising set. He will be coming back with a solo stage performance this year on the 3rd day on both weekends, set for April 16 and 23.
