Filmmaker Atlee has shared fresh details about his upcoming project AA22 x A6, calling it one of the most ambitious films of his career.
The film, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, is already one of the most-awaited releases in Indian cinema.
Atlee revealed that the team is collaborating with international experts and that even Hollywood technicians have found the film’s scale and concept challenging.
Atlee shared an update on his upcoming project, urging fans to be patient for a little longer. “Please wait for a few months; we are working to show you something special. One thing I can assure you is that we are going to make something never seen before,” he said.
The filmmaker revealed that the team is collaborating with several Hollywood professionals, adding, “Even the Hollywood technicians working on this film say it's a very challenging project, which makes me believe we are creating something truly big.”
Atlee added that the project is being crafted to be both visually and emotionally “addictive.” “The audience is really sweet, and they keep pushing me every now and then. When I did Rajarani, it was a love story. They wanted me to do something greater. The love the audience gives makes them expect something from me, so it is not a risk, to be very frank. I'm really enjoying the process and trying to make something that will be very new, very intriguing, and addictive to watch,” he said.
The filmmaker confirmed that the shoot is progressing as planned. “We are planning something special, and it will be unveiled soon,” he added.
In AA22 x A6, Allu Arjun is set to portray four different characters.
In June, Deepika Padukone officially joined the cast. Sun Pictures shared a behind-the-scenes video showing Atlee narrating the script to Deepika, along with glimpses of her motion capture shoot. The clip hinted at her playing a queen-like character, riding a horse, and wielding a sword.
The project has drawn major attention for its scale, ambition, and international collaborations. In a teaser video, well-known VFX supervisor James Madigan, who has worked on Iron Man 2 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, said, “I just got done reading the script and I have to say, my head is still spinning.”
Allu Arjun was also seen discussing the script with Mike Elizalde, President of Spectral Motion. Elizalde said, “The script is seriously unlike anything I've ever read. It is the best of the best of what I would ever want to create.”
Academy Award-winner Justin Raleigh, Artistic Director and CEO of Fractured FX, added, “Reading through it (the script), I'm very excited about all the creature potential. All the different character potentials.”
AA22 x A6 is being described as a one-of-a-kind film that aims to break new ground in Indian cinema.
